It contains natural sodium which lowers blood pressure. Moreover, celery has 3-n-butyl-phthalide compound that makes the muscles in the walls of arteries more relaxed. When they get relax, they become wide allowing the blood to flow freely. The Pthalide also decreases stress hormones.
